A small cue at Schiphol Airport changed the cleaning conversation.
At Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, a small fly image inside the urinal gave users a natural point at which to aim. The intervention was widely reported to reduce spillage and lower the airport’s total public washroom cleaning budget by 8 percent.
It showed that a small change at the point of use can reduce the work required downstream. Informed by this lesson, together with research into splash physics and fluid dynamics, Sarga II has developed a compact Urinal Splashback Control System for common commercial wall hung urinals.
